Sophie L. Van Neste is an assistant professor in Urban Studies at INRS Centre Urbanisation Culture Société, Montreal. Her research is on urban political action on socio-ecological issues, and the politics of infrastructure on mobility, energy and the built environment in metropolitan areas. She is interested in the different repertoires of action and tactics from urban actors, grassroots and institutional, for a just post-fossil transition.
