Laurianne began her PhD in the winter 2024 after completing an MA in Health Geography at McGill. Her research centers on energy poverty and pathways towards a just energy transition. For her MA, Laurianne examined energy poverty in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, describing the housing and socioeconomic characteristics of households facing energy poverty and their coping strategies. For her PhD, Laurianne will explore how energy poverty can be addressed in Canada's energy transition, focusing on the lived experience of individuals facing energy poverty and the well-being and justice implications of home energy retrofit programs.
