My research focusses on urban and regional energy transitions in particular in relation to heat decarbonisation and the local governance needs of a smart, flexible energy system. Much of my work explores the role of decentralised actors in energy system change, new business models and how this relates to local, regional and national governance structures. I tend to draw on economic geography and socio-technical transitions literatures but class myself as an interdisciplinary scholar.
