Hermione McCallum (Tūwharetoa, Raukawa, Hāua, Maniapoto, Te Atihaunui-ā-Pāpārangi) is currently the Chief Policy Advisor at Tū Ātea Ltd, a Māori radio spectrum organisation. Her PhD research, "Decolonising Energy Infrastructure: A whānau Māori response to power inequity" explores indigenous innovation, technacy and off-grid solutions and builds on her previous work involving power sovereignty on her ancestral lands and sustainable options for remote and hard to reach Māori communities. With a background in governance, economic development and strategy, Hermione is dedicated to empowering Māori communities through innovative energy solutions.
