Dr Angela Rojas is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) of the Australian Government.

Engineering has been at the core of Angela's academic and professional career. She began exploring the technical perspective of the world with her bachelor’s in Automation and Electronics Engineering and finalised her studies with contributions to the design of "More Electric Aircrafts".  She then worked on energy efficiency R&D to improve the thermal comfort of public transport occupants in Spain. The technical engineering knowledge broadened to include the environmental impacts of technological innovations and infrastructures with a Master of Environmental Engineering. She then decided to bring society along with a PhD researching socio-technical sustainability transitions of energy systems. She used historical narrative and computer modelling to study socio-technical configurations of the energy system in Victoria (Australia) beyond the focus of low-carbon transitions and explored energy justice concepts. Her thesis demonstrated how bridging systems modelling and analysis can inform real-life decision-making and open new avenues for research into adaptive policymaking. After completing her PhD, she joined CSIRO as a post-doctoral researcher working on understanding the role of residential energy efficiency standards in responding to occupants and energy system needs in the context of the net zero and equitable energy transition.
