Ana Horta holds a PhD in Sociology. Currently, her main research interests are focused on social practices and sociocultural aspects related to household energy consumption, energy poverty, renewable energies, energy transition, and media discourses on energy issues and climate change. She is a member of the Energy & Society Network, which has organized the Energy & Society Conferences every two years since 2012. She is a member of the coordination team of the Environment and Society Section of the Portuguese Sociological Association and member of the board of Research Network 12 on Environment and Society of the European Sociological Association.
