Paulina is a PhD candidate in International Development at the University of Edinburgh. She holds an MSc in Environment and Development (UoE) and a Bachelor’s in Political Science (UIA). Her research focuses on the politics of energy in Mexico by exploring the electricity sector’s power dynamics using the case study of a state utility’s trade union that co-owns a power generation company along with a transnational partner. Paulina has over ten years of professional experience working for the government at different levels. She was recently appointed head of the Climate Change area at @gender_issuesmx (Mexican civil organisation).
