Charlotte’s research focuses on domestic energy use and community engagement in urban transition. She runs participatory research with community groups wishing to produce a positive environmental change in their neighbourhood. Recent projects cover P2P energy markets for low income households and gender impacts of demand flexibility. She is leading a project on community energy and collective self-consumption in the UK and the Netherlands. Her work is grounded in critical infrastructure studies and she draws on theories from Anthropology, Material Culture and Science and Technology Studies to analyse and support community-led infrastructural transitions.
