Laura Tozer is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto Scarborough in the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences. She leads the Climate and Energy Governance Lab, which is an interdisciplinary research group on environmental politics and governance with a focus on action to address the climate crisis and to drive transitions to sustainable energy. She is also affiliated with the Environmental Governance Lab at the Munk School of Global Affairs in the University of Toronto and the Earth System Governance Project. Her research on the governance of energy and urban sustainability transitions has been published in over a dozen peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. It includes research on the implementation of urban decarbonization initiatives for buildings, equity in urban sustainability and climate action, the politics of transnational urban climate governance, and municipal climate and energy planning. Her research has been funded by the Canadian Social Science and Humanities Research Council.
